Types of Manuscripts

Journal of English Education Studies (JEES) publishes original scholarly contributions in English education, English linguistics, and English literature. The journal welcomes manuscripts addressing English language teaching, curriculum development, language assessment, educational technology, language acquisition, translation studies, discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, and literary studies. Manuscripts must demonstrate originality, academic relevance, appropriate methodology, and a clear contribution to knowledge, educational practice, or theoretical understanding.

Original Research Articles present findings from empirical investigations using quantitative, qualitative, mixed-methods, experimental, classroom action research, case study, or other appropriate research approaches. These articles should identify a clear research problem, explain the research design and procedures, present reliable findings, and discuss their implications. Research-based manuscripts normally follow the structure of Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, and Conclusions, as specified in the JEES Author Guidelines.

Theoretical or Conceptual Articles provide critical examinations of theories, concepts, educational practices, linguistic phenomena, or literary perspectives. These manuscripts may develop conceptual frameworks, evaluate existing theories, or propose new interpretations based on systematic reasoning and relevant scholarly literature. In accordance with the journal's manuscript guidelines, conceptual articles should normally contain an Introduction, Literature Review, Discussion, and Conclusions. Such articles must offer a clear intellectual contribution rather than merely summarize existing publications.

Review Articles and Book Reviews are also considered when they are relevant to the journal's academic scope. Review articles should critically synthesize existing research, identify developments and research gaps, and explain the approach used to select and examine relevant literature. Book reviews should evaluate scholarly books related to English education, linguistics, or literature, considering their objectives, content, academic contribution, and limitations. Book reviews should follow the journal's required structure, including Introduction, Book Content, Discussion, and Conclusions.

All submitted manuscripts must be original, written in English, and prepared according to the official JEES manuscript template and Author Guidelines. The current guidelines specify a maximum of 5,000 words or approximately 10–15 pages, subject to the applicable formatting requirements. Manuscripts must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal. The editorial team will assess each submission for relevance, scholarly quality, ethical compliance, and suitability for the journal before proceeding to peer review.
